Repeating the unique photography happening 20 years ago called “One Day In Latvia”, a similar event will be held August 31 – “One Day In Latvia. 20 Years Later”. Minister of Culture Helena Demakova, as patroness of the event, is inviting all residents of Latvia to take part in creating this project so that it become a cultural event of national importance, documenting the diverse realities of today's Latvia.

It is also a chance to reflect from today’s perspective on how the nation has changed through the years.
“One Day In Latvia” of 1987 was a unique happening in the process of historic photographic documentation. The fact that Latvia has regained its independence makes this photo collection even more significant. The Soviet period leaves distant memories, various objects and items, and these photographs, which are true eyewitness accounts.
