July 25 to July 30, Jurmala’s Dzintaru Concert Hall will host the annual competition for young pop music vocalists – ”New Wave”. 19 singers from 12 countries will contend for top honors this year. They hail from the United States, Italy, Greece, Poland, Czech Republic, Germany, Russia, Ukraine, Belarus and other nations. The organizers are Raimonds Pauls, Igor Krutoy and Alla Pugachova.

The competition’s first day will feature the contestants performing a pop hit from their own respective country. The second day, the jury will hear international hits in each singer’s native language, but the third day – original songs composed especially for ”New Wave”.

The winner will receive the "Crystal Wave", but the audience favorite and runners-up will receive cash prizes and other awards.

Along with the competition, audiences will be treated to live performances by many popular Russian pop musicians, and a world-famous one is also scheduled to appear. The latter will be a surprise from the organizers.
